ADOPTION - female puppy (almost 6 months)

Meet Monique.

Monique and her sister were given to MDDB when they were about a month old by independent rescuer Eileen Ng. Both pups were suffering from a severe skin disorder whereby the mites were actually found under the skin layer. The vet had advised for the pups to be put to sleep. Soon after that they tested positive for parvo and Monique's sister did not make it.

Monique was in a worst off condition than her sister but we were determined to ensure that she survived. We got the vet to put her on drips and nursed her at our half-way-home around the clock whilst the vet made daily house calls to check on her.

Today she is a vibrant and highly excitable puppy who is out of quarantine and ready for adoption.

Monique's Details

Age : 5 1/2-6 months old

Sex : Female

Spayed : Yes

Temperament : Monique is quite nervous at first but once she familiarises herself with you she's really just full of life. She's hyper and loves to run around. Very playful. Future owners must be strict in terms of diet and exercise. She's still weak so will need some time to gain strength physically and needs to take soft foods for the moment. Training her will be a breeze. She's very obedient and manja.

ADOPTION (cats)

JACINTA'S FOSTER CATS FOR ADOPTION

Chubby right after his operation. He is such a soppy cat, but a fighter.

Chubby likes to sleep, eat, nap, snack, clean himself, meow in earnest, eat more and then sleep again.

Mischievous Hunter, pondering his next move.

Hi guys!

I'm looking for homes for these 2 cats, which were rescued and cared for over the last half year. As you know, we already are parents to 7 cats and 3 dogs - so in order to continue our work with strays in need, I need to find good homes for these fussy felines soon. Here's the breakdown of our 'stock' :

Name: Hunter
Age: 1 year old
Gender: Male
Medical Records: Neutered & vaccinated
Looks like..: Siamese-mix, slightly cross-eyed, blue eyes, bob-tail, terribly un-macho pink nose
Suitable environment: Indoors

The Story: Hunter was found in the bushes opposite our house, early one morning when we were leaving for the Pulau Ketam rescue & relief work. He was tiny - about a month old, with a big voice hollering at the top of his lungs. He is a very vocal, very affectionate and likes to nibble on toes and fingers. He is extremely active and adventurous - he hunts for socks, tissue, bags of food, keys and drags them like dead prey around the living room. He would definitely need a patient and understanding family who thinks his hunting activities are absolutely adorable :)

Name: Chubby
Age: 4-5 years old
Gender: Male
Medical Records: Neutered & vaccinated. Hind-leg amputated due to injury. Urinary problems.
Looks like..: White with big light-orange patches. Big, pleading yellow eyes. Nice long tail.
Suitable environment: Indoors

The Story: Sigh, where to start? His 'owners' who live near our office disowned him one fine day when he was found limping around with his hind leg bloodied and broken in two places. His leg was amputated as advised by the vet, and the operation was kindly paid for by Rena and friends. We have been fostering him for half a year now, and even though he has been abandoned by his owners heartlessly and went through a tough time with his leg he's just the most trusting, happy and grateful cat you can imagine. He recently had another rough patch when he had a lower urinary tract block, which was effectively treated by our fave vets at Healing Rooms. However, the vets said that he would require a special diet (Royal Canin Urinary S/O - RM70 per month) to help prevent the formation of crystals in the future. To be honest, there is a chance of him getting a block again, whereby he cannot urinate so the adopter must be willing and able to monitor his peeing everyday. He can run and jump onto a chair, he seems to not notice he is one leg short.

When all is said and done, Chubbs is a cat you can just chill with. He is just so happy, so talkative and so loving despite all the troubles life has thrown his way. He LOVES his food, and he is happy just spending an entire day sleeping on a foot rug in a sunny spot. Please, if you can find it in your heart to love an older cat with 3 legs for the rest of his life, choose him.

All adoptions will go through SPCA, you will need to fill out the adoption form and pay an adoption fee of RM100 which is a donation back to SPCA for vaccinating and neutering these cats :)

If you're interested to meet these cats, or you just wanna find out more, please call or text me at 012-2881421 or email jacinta.spca@gmail.com

Please pass this on to your friends and family, someone you know may be looking to adopt a cat JUST like Chubby or Hunter :)
